joesix, Sadly, it seems that way. If she were having this same conversation behind the closed doors of the oval offices, that would be different. But these politicians have to realize that their actions are seen around the world and portrays them in a pretty bad light.

Libraries are awesome; and the only upside to ebooks (though i have to laugh, i shoudln’t admit this being a budding author) – i suck at reading, unless it’s a good AWESOME book i really want to read, it takes me A YEAR to read certain books xD. But if it’s an internet format, BOOM i’m at it within seconds – Unless it’s a textbook for university!

Thank you so much for your reponse. I agree the library is a special place in the community. Our main library offers different classes (such as resume writing, kids storytelling, probate procedures) and offers a variety of different speakers and programs. And you can browse books, magazines, and newspapers for hours.

And you’re right, the internet is like a huge library. You can order almost any ebook on any subject without worrying that it’s checked out, or sold out, like a physical book might be. I agree that they both serve a useful purpose and I hope both are around for a long time.

I have an endless love for libraries, they are special places for the community and I believe can offer many functions for different parts of society. The internet too is one big library and I think both the paper and the e-book have their functions for different needs, there’s no need for one to conquer the other.

Yes Tristi, I could see that working. You could even (for long flights, say 10 hours or more) have nursery aids who could care for the children and let the parents get a few hours of sleep. The aids would need to be put through a rigorous background investigation and training process though. But I thing it would work out nicely.
